Srinagar, May 22 (KNO) : Ridiculing Governor Satya Pal Malik’s apology over imposing of ban on movement of civilian traffic on highway, AIP president Er Rasheed Wednesday said that Governor’s statement on apology is full of contradiction. In a statement issued to KNO, Er Rasheed said, “On one hand Governor offer apology for the huge inconvenience caused to masses due to highway ban but in the same breath Governor claims that the decision to ban the traffic on national highway was taken in the national interest. People have a right to know that what purpose and national interest did the ban on national highway served expect creating huge trouble to common masses and giving them a sense that they are second class citizens.” He said it is unfortunate that putting Kashmiris in trouble one way of the other has become the easiest definition of nationalism. “The fact is that New Delhi is using J&K like an experimental laboratory and is doing all mischief’s just to find new ways to suppress voice of Kashmiris,” he said. May one ask Governor that why doesn’t he apologize on other issues which create huge anger and anguish among masses but still New Delhi claims to have taken those colonial steps in the national interest, he said. “If Satya Pal Malik wants to convey that he is feeling the sufferings of masses due to highway ban, he must have the moral courage to apologize for the cold blooded murder of Rizwan Pandit, an innocent unarmed school teacher who was brutally murdered by the cops through torture, few days back and must also apologize for other innocent deaths and use of force against unarmed Kashmiris.” Er. Rasheed added. He said it is obvious that the ban has been lifted because of upcoming Amarnath Yatra and not in love with Kashmiris. Governor is trying to hide his failures and justify the decisions as the work on Srinagar Jammu Highway has also been reportedly stopped due to upcoming Yatra.(KNO)
